How many buyers use the internet? A lot. According to a recent National Association of Realtors (NAR) survey, roughly 9 out of every 10 real estate consumers use the internet as a home-buying tool, with this number growing every year.
Why do buyers go online?
For a few basic reasons. These are the top 6 reasons, according to the NAR survey: - To view photos.
- To view detailed property information.
- To view virtual tours.
- To use interactive maps.
- To learn more about a neighborhood or community.
- To contact a real estate agent.
Looks matter
First and foremost, buyers use the internet to evaluate a home's visual appeal. The internet has become a filtering tool that buyers use to economize their search process. In many cases buyers either accept or reject a home based solely on its online appearance.
